Superb Suppers 14th May
Getting ready for this Friday. Have to soak the quinoas so they have sprouted for Friday for my salad. Going to the Indian shops again to get mangoes that are in season now. I love the Indian and Pakistani mangoes at this time of the year. Especially the Alphonso mangos are my favorite ones, they have the best flavour. It is amazing in how many ways you can eat a mango but the messiest way is still the best and of cause the tastiest.

Fighting for the Last Chilli
I had to go shopping on Monday for food, for a birthday party on Tuesday. A special request from my guest was, would I cook Indian food for them.. So I thought lets head to Kingsbury to the Indian shops and get all my vegetables, herbs and a few spices.
Parked my car had my large shopping bags with me and entered the shop where I usually do my shopping. I couldn'd belief my eyes, the queues were so long and most of the veggies were sold out and some of the shelves were empty. I really wanted to get some fresh garlic, ginger, Ladyfingers also called Bhindi or Okras and a few chillies.
People were literally fighting to get the last chillies.
What an experience that was and only due the ashes(not cricket) in the air, the planes couldn't get all the lovely exotic foods over to us.
Everyone was joking while queueing to pay for their goods, it seemed that we were going to run out of food and would be starving. Being myself and not to shy I said to the other people in the queue that we should use our own British grown vegetables.
So instead of cooking the Ladyfingers I cooked paneer in spinach.

Vegetarian Supper
Hi all
Next Superb Suppers 14th May.
As I have mentioned in my previous blog, I have been cooking at Tabitha's yoga retreat for some time. A few people suggested to me if I would cook some of the lovely vegetarian dishes for my next supper and I have decided it is time to do so.

Dear friends
I am off this weekend to do some serious cooking with a friend of mine at a Yoga retreat, run by Tabitha Dean,in the beautiful country side in the Cotswold's. Damien Hurst's mansion is just around the next bend on a tiny little country lane.
the peacefulness and tranquility is just what you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of London.
We cook the freshest vegetarian food bought from local farmers and you definitely go home newly energised.
For more information regarding the yoga retreat visit www.tabithadeanyoga .co.uk.
